Seattle Trip - Day 3 - Traveling from Spokane, WA to Seattle, WA

So here are the girls the morning of day three. They seem to like each other still. That's pretty darn good. Especially since they've been stuck in the backseat of a car for several hours.
So maybe I was a bit wrong... they may be driving each other a little crazy. :-)
But at least they seem to be having fun with it.
I don't know about the rest of you, but every time I need to park my car in a parking ramp I like to take a picture of where my car is located. Thank goodness for the invention of camera phones. They make this process so much easier.
Not sure if you caught it from the previous picture, but we decided to spend the morning in Spokane, WA at the Riverfront Park. The first thing we saw were these runner things and the girls had to become a part of the scene.

Here they are faking a running pose..
Here they are actually running with the runners...
And I honestly have no clue what they are doing here. Jessi looks like she's either skipping or trying to kick the runner in front of her in the tush. After running with the sculptures, we decided to take a gondola ride of the Spokane Falls. It was a really short ride, but a cool experience and the view was pretty good.

This is the bridge that we went under while we were on the gondola ride. I thought it looked kind of neat from where we were, but i wish the sky would have had some interesting clouds or something.
Here's another view of the falls from the gondola.
This picture was taken from the gondola looking straight down. It was a bit high.
Here is the Rotary Fountain.
The brushed aluminum looked pretty awesome in the sunlight.
Here are the girls in front of the fountain.

And in front of the Canadian flag, which I'm assuming was crafted by the same artist.
And here is a distant picture of the pavilion.
This is the Great Northern Clock Tower which was built in 1902 and was part of the Great Northern Railroad Station. We were there at 11:00 and were able to experience it toll the hour, so we can attest that it still works.
Here are the girls looking at the geese. We didn't have any bread to feed them, but that ended up being a good thing. The poor kid that was feeding them got his finger bit and cried really loudly, which was totally fine since he was like six years old. Now if one of the girls got bit and cried I think I would have been a bit embarrassed. :-)
As you can see, Melanie is still looking at the geese. She really really liked them.
Just a view of the park as more of a whole instead of just in pieces.
Here are the girls posing in front of the american flag sculpture. Again, I'm thinking it is the same artist.
The flag looked so cool in the sunlight. The different texture on the metal just made it shine.
And again another sculpture, by probably the same artist. I should probably go look that up before I give one person all the credit for it.
There was no way that we were going to be able to leave the park without checking out the big Red Wagon. Here is a picture of the girls standing inside. They were really the only kids inside that were tall enough to successfully look over the edge.
Here's Melanie going down the slide. I just love the group of little kids at the bottom. They were looking at Melanie and Jessi like they had invaded their territory and they were going to teach them who's boss.
And of course, Jessi had to go down the slide too. I mean how may people can say that they slid on a giant Red Radio Flyer wagon.
And as you can see everyone had a bit of fun playing on the blocks.
These are the moments where I realize that Jessi might be a bit evil.
This one just makes me giggle.
And here is Erik putting the "I" in Erik. Get it? He's the "I" in Erik. Hee Hee!!! Ya I'm a dork I know it, but it makes life more interesting.
Last but not least we decided to visit the garbage sucking goat. I think the girls fell in love with him.
Yeah, not sure what's up with this one. She looks either frightened or like she's trying to be a goof.
And here she is showing it some love...
And here I think she went into Princess mode..
I love how Melanie looks like she's riding a motorcycle.
This one was extra funny. When she went in to wrap her hands around his neck it tried to bite her. Well not actually bite, but the garbage suction device was on and it kind of sucked her hand and startled her a bit.
And here she is doing the side saddle thing.
I think this one is self explanatory. And I bet you can guess what Jessi did after getting her hands wet.
Just had to have Jessi pose by the Leland sign. It made me think of uncle "LeeLee". I think he would have liked the goat too. :-)
Yes this did taste as good as it looks. I love that they make these fresh daily and that the tray the make them on imprints the company name on it. YUMMY!!!!
Some random bridge between Spokane & Seattle.
Well after several hours of driving....
coloring....
word searching...
and sleeping...

We finally arrived at our hotel in Bellevue, WA. And I must say Erik and I were not disappointed.

And I think the girls like it too.
That's it for tonight. Need to get to bed so that we can do some site seeing in Seattle tomorrow.

Good Night!
